Two Injured In Camper Crash

RED HOUSE – A couple from Ithaca suffered non-life threatening injuries after New York State Police said they crashed into a Tractor Trailer on I-86 eastbound near Allegany State Park.
Troopers report the couple’s Ford Explorer hauling a camper, hit the tractor trailer’s right front tire, losing control entering the left lane overturning in the median.
The couple complained of chest pain from the seatbelt and the husband had suffered abrasion to the back of his head.
They were taken to Olean General Hospital via ambulance.
Police said the drivers offered conflicting statements on how the incident occurred.
An uninvolved witness however corroborated the tractor trailer driver’s story that the camping trailer swerved from its lane.
Crews worked to cleanup a leaking propane tank from the camper.
Troopers were assisted by Allegheny Indian Reservation Fire Ambulance, East Randolph Fire, Cold Spring Fire, Seneca Marshall, Salamanca Police and Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.
