JAMESTOWN-The Southern Tier Xpress will wear special jerseys during a veterans appreciation game on Friday night.
All veterans and active military members will receive free admission with Veteran/military ID.
The special commemorative jerseys are the same digital camouflage variety worn by professional sports teams like the Pittsburgh Pirates who unveiled them two years ago in honor of the U.S. Armed Forces.
The jerseys will be available for bid through a silent auction.
All proceeds raised from the jerseys will be donated to local veteran services.
Friday’s match-up pits the Pittsburgh Vengeance (14-5) against the Southern Tier Xpress (6-8), both teams play in the East Division of the North American 3 Hockey League.
Vengeance is 16 points ahead of the Xpress in the division standings. Pittsburgh is two points behind the division-leading Metro Jets.
The puck drops at 7:00pm.
