Woman Allegedly Receives More Than $3,300 In Unentitled Benefits

JAMESTOWN – A Ripley woman allegedly received more than $3,300 ($3,386) in unentitled SNAP/Food Stamp benefits between April 2014 and December 2015, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office. 
Nancy L. Simmons, 69, of West Main St., allegedly failed to notify the Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services of income within her household.
Simmons was charged with four counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing (felony), third-degree grand larceny (felony), third-degree welfare fraud (felony), and misuse of food stamps (felony).
Simmons will appear in City of Jamestown Court at a later date.
