JHS Announces 27 Fall WNY Scholar Athletes

JAMESTOWN – Jamestown High School recently announced that 27 athletes on the school’s fall varsity sports teams qualified as All-Western New York Scholars, which are awarded by Section VI.

To qualify, each senior’s overall grade point must be an average of 90 or above for six semesters and be a starter or important reserve.

The WNY Fall Scholar Athletes are: Drew Boggs (football), Alex Classon (football), JonMichael DeAngelo (football), Asha deHarder (girls tennis), Christian Dolce (boys cross country), Karleigh Haines (girls volleyball), Finley Holt (football), Elyse Jones (girls swimming), Isabelle Knapp (girls volleyball), Taylor Lee (boys cross country), Macey Lundmark (girls soccer), Kaitlyn McDowell (girls swimming), Zara Miles (girls swimming), Ellyse Noon (girls volleyball), Grace Osborne (girls swimming) Lauren Peters (girls soccer), Rylee Porter (girls soccer), Sarah Russo (girls swimming), Emily Spitz (girls swimming), Allie Stockwell (girls swimming), Morgan Tracy (girls volleyball), Kara Triscari (girls cross country), Matt Rhodes (football), Zoe White (girls soccer), Camryn Wilson (girls tennis), Mia Young (girls tennis) and Joshua Zielinski (football).

“Being named to the All-Western New York Academic Team is a special honor,” said JPS Athletic Director Ben Drake. “These young men and women truly epitomize what the term, student-athlete, means. Not only are they great athletes, but these seniors also maintained an overall grade point average of 90% or higher during their four years at JHS. They are great role models for our younger athletes and we are all very proud of them.”
