JHS Lands 10 On All-Western New York Scholar List

JAMESTOWN – Ten Jamestown High School student athletes have been named to the All-Western New York Scholars list for Section VI.
Three students were named while seven others were lauded with honorable mention.
The top three named were Henry Malarkey (Boys’ Tennis), Andrew Pumford (Baseball) and Johnathan Sandstrom (Baseball).
Honorable  mention honors went to Matthew Blakey (Boys’ Track and Field), Taylor Brightman (Softball), Cory Falkowski (Baseball),  Ethan Glatz (Boys’ Tennis), Matthew Hill (Baseball), Hanny Qadri (Boys’ Tennis) and Maverick Tomczak (Baseball).
To qualify, students must maintain at least a 90 percent average for six straight semesters and be a starter or important reserve on their team.
“These young men and women truly epitomize what the term student-athlete means,” Ben Drake, Jamestown Public Schools Athletic Director, said.
