Metro Jets Score Early And Often In 7-0 Shutout Of Xpress

FRASIER, MI – The Metro Jets established a fluid offensive attack early on against the Southern Tier Xpress and didn’t relent, scoring all seven of their goals in the first two periods Saturday night in a shutout.
The convincing victory comes less than a month after Southern Tier grounded the Jets and ended their 17-game winning streak at Northwest Arena with a come-from-behind effort.
Metro Goalie Brian Tallieu stopped all 26 shots taken by the Xpress on Saturday.
Brodie Thornton opened the scoring for Metro with what turned out to be the game-winning goal at 4:11 in the first, with helpers from teammates Gierman and Bruce. Hansen netted a goal at 12:16 with assists from Momot and Inger.
In the second period, Davis scored a goal at 3:26 with helpers from Gierman and Cinato. Alafriz quickly followed with a goal at 4:59 with an assist from defenseman Flannery. Schaumburger put in a goal at 7:21 with helpers from his linemates, Inger and Sawyer. Momot deposited a goal at 13:24 with assists from Hansen and Thornton. Schaumburger scored a goal at 17:36 with a helper from fellow Jets forward Stawinsk
