Bonnies Get The Win In A Seven Period Marathon

ALLEGANY –  The St. Bonaventure Bonnies women’s basketball team defeated the Canisius Golden Griffins, 100-94, in their first triple-overtime game since the 1980-1981 season. 
The Lady Bonnies also scored at least 90 points in a game since 2002. They also broke the century mark in a game for the first time since 1995.
St. Bonaventure had a 57-46 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Canisius charged back to force the game into overtime, outscoring the Bonnies, 23-12, in the fourth.
With the game tied at 81 after the first overtime, the game was sent to a second overtime. Once again, both teams played to a deadlock at 88 to send the game to its third overtime.
In the third overtime, the Bonnies outscored the Golden Griffins by six points to improve on the season to 2-1.
Danielle Migliore led the Bonnies with 19 points. Migliore also drilled four three-pointers.
Emily Calabrese finished with a double-double. Calabrese scored 18 points and recorded 10 rebounds.
Bree Paulsen scored 17 points and nailed a game-high five shots from beyond the arc.
For the Golden Griffins, D’Jhai Patterson-Ricks scored a game high 24 points, 12 of those points from three.
Sara Hinriksdottir had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Danielle Sanderlin chipped in with eight points and a game-high 18 rebounds.
The Lady Bonnies next game will be at the Reilly Center on Saturday afternoon against the Hofstra Pride.
Tip-off will be at 2 p.m.
