Bonnies Look To Rebound Before Christmas

BOSTON – Firday afternoon, the 4-7 St. Bonaventure Men’s Basketball team will be on the road to face off against the 5-6 Northeastern Huskies. It will be the final game for the Bonnies before Christmas.

The Bonnies lost their last game on Tuesday 83-76, against the Vermont Catamounts in double-overtime.

Courtney Stockard, a senior forward, is averaging 19 points and more than six rebounds a game. Stockard is also shooting nearly 56 percent from the floor. Stockard finished Tuesday night’s game with a 27 point performance, although he would end up fouling out.

Freshman guard Kyle Lofton is averaging more than 14 points a games and had a 23 point outing versus Vermont. Lofton also leads the Bonnies in total assists and steals, (47 assists and 14 steals respectively.)

Osun Osunniyi, a freshman forward/center combo, currently leads the Atlantic-10 with 27 blocked shots.

Men’s Bonnies head-coach, Mark Schmidt, has had to shuffle the starting line-up on five different occasions due to players being hit by the injury bug.

Senior forward, LaDarien Griffin has missed the last 10 games due to a knee injury.

Freshman guard, Dominick Welch, has also missed a string of games due to injury.

Northeastern lost their last game on Sunday 75-70, which was also against the Catamounts.

In two games against each other, the Bonnies and Huskies are tied all-time at one game a piece. It will also be the first time in which the Bonnies will be on the road against Northeastern.

Tip-off will be at noon.
