Chautauqua Sports Hall Of Fame Inducts Eight


LAKEWOOD – Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame added eight new members during its induction dinner in Lakewood Monday night.
Among those added to the Hall of Fame was former Maple Grove Head Football Coach Curt Fischer, who spoke to our Ryan Hedrick at a recent basketball game about his induction.
“It’s one of the biggest honors I’ve ever had in my life,” said Fischer. “I’m so humbled by it.”
“I’ve gotten such great outreach from the place I’ve graduated from,” Fischer explained. “The Falconer people have been wonderful to me.”
Other inductees included Clem Worosz for his work with college basketball.
Dick Cole, Lori Franchina, Sheilah Gulas, Fran Sirianni, Phil Young were also added, along with the late Jim Riggs, who worked for the Post Journal.
