Lead Paint At Diethrick Park Costing City

JAMESTOWN – More money will be allocated to Russell Diethrick Park after crews discovered lead paint at the facility.
The City of Jamestown, owner of the ballpark, approved $110,000 for the project during Monday evening’s City Council meeting.
The council approved a $25,300 contract with Long Island Enterprise to paint the grandstands, but after the lead paint was discovered, crews had to take extra precautions to remove it, costing the city.
Jamestown Mayor Sam Teresi said the painting projects are expected to remain on schedule, and should be done by June 1 when the baseball season kicks off.
