Local Basketball Star Looks Towards The Future

JAMESTOWN – Local basketball star Devin Pope, who surpassed 2,000 career points this year, is looking forward to the future.
Chautauqua Lake’s Pope told us off the court he’s getting ready to start college this fall.
Pope said the inspiration of other great local players, like Zach Panebianco, pushed him to achieve.
“He’s a beast,” said Pope. “I’ve played with him a lot in summer league and he’s really good.”
Pope explained that Panebianco’s work ethic has rubbed off on him.
“You can not go anywhere without grades,” said Pope. “It doesn’t matter how good of a player you are. Some colleges might decline you even though your the best player in the county or state.”
