MAYVILLE – Chautauqua Lake’s senior guard Devin Pope surpassed 2,000 career points in Friday evening’s Section VI Class C Quarterfinal game against Salamanca, a game in which Chautauqua Lake won, 60-56.
Pope needed 22 points and reached 23 on a put-back with 1:11 left in the 3rd quarter. Pope came into the game averaging 31 points per game in 20 games this season, according to MaxPreps.
Pope finished with 29 points to reach 2,007 points in his career.
Before tonight’s game, Pope carried a career average of 21.2 points per game in 74 games. He’s also average seven rebounds per game, 2.6 assists per game, 3.7 steals per game and 0.7 blocks per game.
