St. Bonaventure Beats VCU 68-63 For 10th Straight Win

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) Courtney Stockard and Jaylen Adams tossed in 21 points apiece and St. Bonaventure upped its winning streak to 10 with a 68-63 victory over VCU on Saturday night.
Stockard added a career-best 14 rebounds, all on the defensive end, to notch his third double-double this season for the Bonnies (22-6, 12-4 Atlantic 10 Conference), who remained in a tie for second place with Davidson with two games left in conference play. St. Bonaventure will host Davidson on Tuesday before closing out the regular season at fourth-place Saint Louis on Saturday.
The long winning streak allowed the Bonnies post three straight 20-win seasons for the first time since 1958-61 when they did it four straight years. St. Bonaventure has won 10 straight in conference play for the first time. Its previous best was six in a row.
Justin Tillman paced the Rams (16-13, 8-8) with 20 points and 10 rebounds. It was his 14th double-double of the campaign. De’Riante Jenkins added 10 points for VCU, but he made just 2 of 11 from 3-point range as VCU shot 27 percent from distance. The Rams made just 4 of 9 free throws, while the Bonnies sank 15 of 20.
