A new study suggests your smartphone may be spying on you.
Researchers at Northeastern University spent a year studying over 17-thousand popular apps found on Androids.
They wanted to know if any of them were covertly using the microphone to record audio.
They found no evidence of that, although, the group did find that some apps record the user’s screen, then share that information with third parties.
Google Play Policy says you must disclose to users how their data will be collected.
The researchers say they will be presenting their work at the Privacy Enhancing Technology Symposium Conference in Barcelona next month.
