BPU Restores Power To Nearly 1500; Water Pressure Low

JAMESTOWN – Nearly 1,500 people have had their power restored following an outage at the English Hill Substation, according to the Board of Public Utilities.
The outage occured at 3:30 pm and as of 4:30, crews restored power to approximately 1462 people, with about 423 people still without electricity.
The substation serves the south side of the city; the area between Foote Avenue and the east City line; and as far north as the Buffalo and Allen Streets intersection.
Water pressure is said to compromised in the outage areas.
Once full restoration is complete, customers may see discolored water.
Officials are asking you not to do laundry  until your water appears clear.
At this time there’s estimated repair time.
