RIPLEY-County Executive Hopeful George Borrello toured the site of his proposed “the best of Western New York Commerce Center” just off the I-90 exit Monday afternoon.
Borrello said it’s not your typical rest stop. “We want to feature local restaurants and shops to give people a taste of Chautauqua County,” explained Borrello.
The Hanover Republican is modeling the site after the Tamarack, a successful pit stop in West Virginia.
Borrello already has support for the project just days after its announcement.
Legislator John Hemmer said the following: “It’s a big lift; it’s going to take a concentrated effort to get this through.”
Borrello hopes to employ both State and private investors to get the project on its feet.
