Family Of Missing Man Thanks Supporters Following Confirmation Of Death


BUSTI – The family of a missing Busti man used social media Monday night to thank the supporters that posted well wishes during an extremely rough seven-day period. 
Wilfredo Colon Rodriguez Jr., 48, was reported missing on April 21st by a neighbor who became concerned after not to speaking him for several days, according to Lakewood-Busti Police.
“As of a little while ago, it was confirmed that the body that was found in Randolph was his! RIP to the sweetest and kindest man I know,” posted Evelyn Cruz, who identified herself as Rodriguez Jr’s cousin.
“I want to say thank you to everyone that shared my post in regards to my cousin Wilfredo Colon Rodriguez Junior,” Cruz added.
Cruz said that Wilfredo or “Fred”, as he was known to those who love him, was like a “brother.”
“I am going to miss u Cuzco love you R.I.P we had some good time bro,” Cruz’s brother said.
Lakewood-Busti Police told WNYNewsNow earlier in the day that there was no reason to believe that Rodriguez Jr’s. disappearance was suspicious when the report was filed.
The case is in the hands of New York State Police investigators.
“Fredo, Mi amor noooooo omg, this not true,” another family member posted.
