MOUNT VERNON – The Father of a two-year-old boy has been charged with his murder after his mother came home to find him cold and unresponsive on Monday night.
Authorities charged, Lloyd Scott, 34, with second degree murder.
Scott reportedly has no criminal history, according to several media outlets.
“This is another tragic situation that hurts beyond description,” said Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Thomas. “This toddler was taken away from us at the hands of someone that they trusted.”
Police haven’t released all the details yet but investigators were at the Esplande Gardens Apartment Complex carrying out bags marked evidence.
Mount Vernon Police were dispatched to the apartment building following the mother’s horrifying discovery.
The little boy was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
