JAMESTOWN – Our Ryan Hedrick is reporting that Robert S. Overton, Jr., 47, will be committed to County Jail without bail on a felony charge of aggravated cruelty to animals.
Overton’s next hearing will be April 11th.
The man was arraigned in Jamestown City Court at 2 PM, per Court Clerk.
JPD says the dog was hanged from the tree in either late November or early December, and was discovered Monday evening. He is now in custody, and is awaiting arraignment.
A felony warrant was issued for 47-year-old city man, Robert Overton, Thursday in City Court, according to the County Sheriff’s Website.
Overton is wanted on a charge of aggravated cruelty to animals.
Overton previously admitted, on camera, of killing a pit bull.

R. Overton is sick he knows that you don’t hang an animal. Isn’t this why we have dog wardens? He’s guilty and what about the children and other people that had to see this animal displayed like that. The damage he has done is undeniably a sign of a person with no regard to animal or humans.
