First Freeze of The Season is Expected Tonight

The first freeze of the season is expected for Western New York tonight.

Temperatures will tumble into the 30s tonight, leading to the coldest night we’ve had so far this year. This will create the first frost and or freeze of the season, signaling that the end of the growing season is near.

In response to this, The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Frost Advisory for Chautauqua, southern Erie, Wyoming and Livingston Counties, where temps will hover in the mid 30s, along with a Freeze Warning for Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties, where temps will be at or below freezing.

Temperatures this cool can harm, or potentially kill, sensitive vegetation if left outdoors or uncovered. Also, don’t forget your pets! Bring your pets indoors tonight along with your plants!
