JAMESTOWN-A local poet who recently lost a loved one to active addiction is using her storytelling skills to work through a terrible tragedy and promote her hometown.
Autumn Echo has worked tirelessly to promote poetry over the last several years. Two years ago, Echo hosted a Pulse Poetry Slam at Infinity Visual and Performing Arts, a local non-profit youth development program and center.
According to her social media site http://sirenpoetry-aes.tumblr.com, Echo discovered her passion at a very young age and started to hone her craft aggressively when she began promoting Pulse Poetry to this community.
“My City” is described as a spoken work film written, poem written, directed, and produced by Echo herself.
The actual video was shot and edited by Paul Schermerhorn. The film won an award for best representation of the city during the Jamestown Insomniac Competitive Film Festival https://www.facebook.com/jiff24/.
