Long Anticipated Jamestown Bridge Nears Completion

JAMESTOWN- Two very large cranes placed the 180-ft. long Panzarella Bridge across the Chadakoin River Monday.

According to engineers, the bridge was fabricated in three different sections.

“The west abutment, which is across the river from us, was erected in two pieces and then lifted across,” said David Rhinehart, Associate at Clark Patterson Lee.

“The third piece was lifted across to this side,” added Rhinehart.

There’s still a lot of work to be done, namely the approaches and stairways.

The Panzarella Bridge is the latest phase for the Jamestown Riverwalk which was conceptualized many years ago.

Rhinehart said they expect to set the Washington Street Bridge on Tuesday.
