New York State Governor Reacts To AG’s Alleged Misconduct “It Must Stop”

NEW YORK – Governor Andrew Cuomo publicly addressed allegations Tuesday that his outgoing Attorney General physically attacked four women with whom he had sexual relationships with.
Cuomo praised the four women who alleged that they were attacked by Scheneiderman; two of them shared their personal accounts with the New Yorker.
“I think the article was graphic and definitive in the reporting of the statements, actions, behavior and corroboration,” said Cuomo. “I thought it was a very powerful and damning statement of facts.”
Cuomo, speaking at the Hudson River bridge named for his father Mario, broached the subject of a prosecutor leveling criminal charges against the disgraced former state attorney general.
“Because of your bravery to speak truth to power and face your perpetrator, you have given so many women the strength to use their own voices,” tweeted Manning Barish. “Bravery is contagious; but truth is unstoppable.”
Meanwhile, business continues in Albany for the Attorney’s General office.
On Tuesday afternoon, acting AG Barbara Underwood released a statement to the press.
“I am honored to serve the people of New York as acting Attorney General. The work of this office is critically important. Our office has never been stronger, and this extraordinarily talented, dedicated, and tireless team of public servants will ensure that our work continues without interruption.”
Multiple media reports indicate Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul is one of the leading candidates to replace Eric Schneiderman whose resignation goes into effect at the close of business Tuesday.
