Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin Dies

DETROIT – An American music icon and the aptly named Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin has died at the age of 76, according to her publicist.
Franklin died in her home town after falling seriously ill last week.
The legendary singer had 20 Number One R&B singles, most notably the song Respect. In addition, she won 18 Grammy Awards.
Among her honors were being the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, being awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President George W. Bush and the honor of performing at the inaugurations of presidents Obama, Clinton and Carter.
