RANDOLPH – A man said he was four-wheeling with his wife when he discovered a dead body by a log pile Saturday evening on Swanson Road in the Town of Randolph.
“I didn’t know what to think,” said Don Robbins. “It’s a crazy world today, and I am thinking who’s been up here?”
Robbins said he made the discovery around 5:00.
“I called the police, and five minutes later there were here,” he said.
Robbins said State Police had a forensics team at the scene all night.
“There was about 50 cars that came by last night,” said Robbins. “They pretty much made everybody stay off of the hill, it’s a dead-end so nobody really goes up there anyway.”
Robbins told WNYNewsNow that investigators wanted “names and times” but did not elaborate on his conversation with law enforcement.
“They asked me many questions but I am restricted about what I can say,” Robbins said.
This was the second body discovered in a 24-hour-period in the bi-county region (Chautauqua, Cattaraugus). The first, a deceased man, was discovered along Route 20 in the Town of Portland.
