Sabres Slide Continues With Loss To Sharks

BUFFALO-The Buffalo Sabres fell 3-2 to the San Jose Sharks Saturday afternoon in Buffalo after a first-period Jack Eichel goal was disallowed because of goalie interference.

Officials ruled that Sam Reinhart made slight contact with  Sharks goalie Aaron Dell, but it was enough to stop Dell from crossing the crease to thwart Eichel’s slap shot.

Ryan O’Reilly and Jason Pominville scored while Eichel garnered an assist on his 21st birthday. O’Reilly’s goal, a power play score, was his fourth of the season and Pominville netted his 6th goal. The game was knotted at 2-all, but Logan Couture scored with 3:52 left in the game to lift the Sharks to a come-back victory. The loss drops the Sabres to 3-7-2 and seventh in the Eastern Conference.

Also scoring for San Jose were Joonas Donskoi and Chris Tierney. Dell stopped 30 shots in the win while Sabres netminder Robin Lehner stopped 28 shots. The Sabres play the rival Toronto Maple Leafs Monday night.

  1. It’s pretty bad when the Sabres are the local NHL team but yet you don’t know how to spell the name correctly…and it’s misspelled in the title.
