MAYVILLE-Democrat Mike Ferguson discussed what he believes is the most important county issue after announcing his intention to run for County Executive Thursday afternoon outside the county house.
Ferguson told WNYNewsNow the county’s population loss should be a top priority, a similar agenda to his Republican foe George Borello.
The Fredonia native, however, said his approach makes his policies regarding population loss unique compared to Borello’s.
Ferguson said he’s also interested in investing in the county’s food production. He hopes to revitalize a 2013 plan to bring organic foods to the region.
The candidate is currently a marketing executive at Fredonia Place. Ferguson was previously the Jamestown Jammers’ General Manager as well as the GM of the Northwest Arena.
Ferguson will make his first attempt at politics as he hopes to transition from the private to public sector.
