Jamestown Man Charged With Illegally Possessing Hypodermic Needles

ELLICOTT – Ted J. Casler, 37, of Jamestown, has been charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument following what Ellicott Police were told was a man carrying a firearm.

Police said they received a complaint of an unwanted man at the Mirage Salon in the Fairmount  Plaza Tuesday, who was reported to be armed. In responding, police found Casler walking east on Fairmount Avenue but said he was not in possession of a firearm. But several hypodermice needles were found, police said.

Casler was arraigned in the Town of Ellicott Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

  1. Illegal to possess them, but NOT illegal to purchase??? Maybe if we control the purchase of needles to those who actually need and have a prescription for them, instead of allowing pharmacies to pass them out like candy?!? Been saying this long b4 this heroine epidemic started…
