Local High School Marching Band Will Perform At Dublin Ireland St. Patty’s Day Festival

YOUNGSVILLE – Youngsville High School’s  marching band will travel more than 3,000 miles to perform in front of more than one million people at the The St Patrick’s Festival Parade in Dublin, Ireland next month.
“We’re excited to share this information with all of the people that support us,” said Youngsville High School Marching Band Director Cindy Scheid.
The band was invited by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, SINN FÉIN COUNCILLOR Mícheál Mac Donncha.
“It’s been awfully hard to get all of our money collected for this trip, but now that we are close, we are getting very excited,” Scheid said.
The band is hosting a breakfast benefit on Sunday, March 4th at the Warren American Legion to raise more money as the nears.
“It takes an awful lot of hard work to get to the level where they will accept you and invite you to come over and perform,” Scheid said.
The band made an appearance at the Jamestown Jackals game on Sunday night.
According to various websites, Dublin’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival is a five-day event consisting of food, music, theater, and even fireworks.
The festival takes place March 17th-22nd.
The band has set up a go fund me page if you would like to help them out.
