JAMESTOWN – We will be getting the month of October off to a bit of a wet start as rain in the cards for Western New York over the next several days.
A system passing to the South will brush the region with some rain showers this afternoon. Nothing of a big deal there.
A Canadian Cold front will be moving towards the area tomorrow and with that, comes the batter chase for some showers and thunderstorms.
The NOAA Storm Prediction Center has the Southern Tier under a less than average Marginal Risk (1/5) for severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon. The main concern is with some brief gusty winds and some heavy rainfall.
There is also a Marginal Risk of flash flooding issued by the Weather Prediction Center from excessive rainfall Tuesday.
Temps will fluctuate through the week but most of the week will be spent above average.
