JAMESTOWN – A nice relief from the humidity is our weather over the next couple of days before that dreaded humidity makes a comeback to Western New York once again for the Holiday Weekend.
As we talked about yesterday, the passage of a Cold front has dropped our temperatures to a more comfortable level. This is due to the shift in wind direction after the fronts’ passage. Winds are coming in from the North and Northwest and that kind of flow aloft tends to bring in cooler air from Canada.
We’ll do a little better in the temp department Friday, thanks to more in the way of sunshine, but it will still remain very pleasant and quite comfortable.
As a Warm front approaches from the Southwest, the heat and humidity will spike once again this weekend and early next week. Longer-range model guidance suggests the first half of September could very well be warmer than average, and that will be something we will be keeping our eyes on as we head into next month.
