Crankin’ Up The Warmth; Scattered Showers & Storms Mid Week

JAMESTOWN – High pressure to our south is bringing us some gorgeous sunshine over the next couple of days, as temperatures soar throughout the week.
The next chance for rain will be Wednesday afternoon:
A Low with an attached Warm front will move its way across Western New York. The center of the Low will pass to our North, but the front will sweep across to near-by the region.
The morning and early afternoon will be sunny, thanks to the approaching front. The sunshine will help heat the ground, as apart of the daytime heating process. We will likely be in the upper 70s to nearing 80 by the late afternoon.
With this kind of sunshine-induced warmth, and a Low passing near by, that may provide some some lift (rising air) into the atmosphere, and fuel thunderstorm development for the late afternoon and evening hours of Wednesday.
We do not expect any severe weather at this time.
Rain showers will continue Thursday through Friday, as the 70s hang on for a little while longer.
The weekend is looking dry, but temperatures will come back down in the 60s for Saturday, and upper 50s for Sunday.
