Dry And Comfortable Wednesday, Potential For Some Gusty Thunderstorms Friday

JAMESTOWN – High pressure has taken over across the region today after the passage of a weak Cold front. However, things could get active once again as we go into the end of the week.
A warm front will build back across the region on Thursday, bringing back some heat and humidity. A strong cold front located to our West will move through Western New York on Friday, bring temps and the humidity down behind that front.
The front also has the potential to produce some locally severe thunderstorms Friday afternoon, with the Storm Prediction Center placing all of the region under a standard Slight Risk (2/5) for Friday.

While the exact timing of the strongest storms is still questionable at this point, we do believe the greatest threat will be from managing wind gusts.
After the fronts’ passage, temperatures come down this weekend to a more fall-like feel to kick off the new season. That same pattern will continue through early next week.
