Gorgeous Thursday, A Cooler Friday Ahead Of Rain For The Weekend

JAMESTOWN – It’s a fantastic Thursday, as the sun is shinin’ and the warmth is cranked up. However, the weekend is looking a bit wet at this point.
While most areas today will be in the mid to upper 70s, the potential does exist for a few inland spots away from Lake Erie to hit 80 before the day is over with. We’ll have to wait and see what the official highs are this evening.
A Cold front perched just to our North over Lake Ontario will be making its way into Western New York tomorrow, which will knock our temperatures down into the mid to upper 60s, but that will still be right around average for this time of the year (average is 68). The chance does exist for a spotty light shower through the afternoon hours on Friday, as another front to our south moves closer to the region, but the current computer model guidance has pushed a lot of that rain back until Friday night and Saturday.
The rain on Saturday will be more widespread in nature during the morning hours, tapering to scattered showers for the afternoon. A couple rumbles of thunder are also possible in some of this rain activity at times.
The chance for a few rain showers will carry us through Sunday and Monday, with some dry time in between the rain coverage at times. We finally start to clear out on Tuesday, with temperatures back into the 70s once again for next week.
