JAMESTOWN – A Low pressure system that will be moving through the region will produce the chance for some thunderstorms this afternoon.
The NOAA Storm Prediction Center has placed the extreme portion of the Southern Tier under a standard Slight Risk (2/5) for severe storms this afternoon with a less than average Marginal Risk (1/5) for the remainder of the region.
The main timing window to catch a strong storm would be between now (2 PM) until 4 PM this afternoon. The main threats will be from gusty winds and heavy rainfall.
Temps will continue above average for the majority of the week, making a run at 80 degrees next Monday.
