JAMESTOWN – The winds will be howling later this afternoon and tonight as a deep surface Low passes to our Northwest.
The National Weather Service in Buffalo has UPGRADED the Wind Advisory to a High Wind Warning for Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara Counties until 6 AM Wednesday.
Winds will really start to pick up this afternoon and become their strongest tonight, with the highest winds found along the Lake Erie shoreline where winds could gust to near 60 MPH there.
As the surface Low continues to move to our northwest, the chance remains for a few scattered showers through the afternoon and night.
We are continuing to keep our eyes on the weekend as models are still suggesting a lake effect snow event Saturday through Monday. It is still way too early to be throwing out numbers, as the exact placement of where those lake bands will set up is still unknown at this time and how intense they will be.
This will be something we will keep your updated on throughout the week.
