JAMESTOWN – The lake effect snow machine will be primed and ready to go for Wednesday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Lake Effect Snow for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties, going into effect at 4 AM and lasting through 4 PM Wednesday.
Lake snow will get going late tonight across the Buffalo metro. As the winds shift across the lake, that will jog the band into the Southern Tier by morning.
In terms of accumulation, a general 3 to 5 inches are likely with localized amounts up to 6 inches possible along the the Boston Hills and Chautauqua Ridge.
Thanksgiving Day: As we’ve been talking about all week, an Arctic front will move through the region, dropping temps into the teens for Thursday. High pressure builds in from the the north, dragging the polar air along with it.
However, we will rebound through the weekend as temps go back into the 40s by early next week.
