Limited Rain Chances Next Few Days; Summer Heat Returns For The Weekend

JAMESTOWN – Moisture streaming in from the Gulf of Mexico will keep the rain chances in the picture over the next couple of days, albeit overall limited chances.

While there is a 20 to 25% chance for a rain shower or thundershower throughout the afternoon today, the  majority of the day will be dry. However, do not count on any sunshine. The clouds will just win out for today. The cloud cover will also help to keep our temperatures down into the 70s.

Hourly Planner

A better rain chance comes late tonight and tomorrow but again, not a widespread event. The rain coverage will be scattered in nature.
Looking ahead, we’re still expecting the pattern to begin favoring more summer-like temperatures as we head into the weekend into early next week. Along with that warmth, like clockwork, also comes the humidity.  We’ll be dealing with near oppressive humidity levels once again, adding that noticeable “slick” back into the air.
Summer warmth will make a return to much of the Lower 48 over the next 6 to 10 days.

We have taken most of the rain chances out of the forecast for the weekend, based on the newest model guidance, but scattered rain and storm chances increase once again next week as a result of excess moisture (humidity) in the atmosphere.
