More Snow On The Way: Winter Storm Warning In Effect

JAMESTOWN – The National Weather Service has upgraded the Winter Weather Advisory to a Winter Storm Warning for Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie Counties until 5 AM on Saturday.
Snow will continue in pockets throughout the day today and tonight, with some of that snow becoming moderate to heavy at times.
We are expecting an additional 3 to 6 inches on top of what we already have, with 7 to 9 inches possible along higher terrain of the Chautauqua Ridge and Boston Hills.
The winds will also be a factor in this as well, which will blow around loose and falling snow, reducing visibilities, and making driving quite hazardous.
The snow begins to wind down later tonight into Saturday, with just a few lighter snow showers at times otherwise, some breaks of sun.
Looking past today, there is no sign of warmer temperatures anywhere in sight (average high is 40). It looks like we will stay below average for the foreseeable future.
