JAMESTOWN – Temperatures have sharply dropped across the region this afternoon; going from 55 at the Jamestown Airport at Noon, to 30 as of 6PM.
This significant drop off has allowed for some of the sleet to freeze down at the ground, creating some very slick spots of ice. We are still expecting another changeover to all snow this evening, becoming heavier as the night goes along.
When we’re all set and done by Saturday evening, we are likely looking at a general snowfall of 6 to 10 inches, with lesser amounts where the heaviest ice accumalation was.
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for all of Western New York until 4:00 PM Saturday. The Areal Flood Watch was canceled by the National Weather Service for much of the region earlier this afternoon.
