JAMESTOWN – Yesterday, we were doused with plenty of sunshine. Today, it’s a soggy one.
The rain will continue throughout the day today, and much of the evening as well.
There will be some breaks in the rain coverage, but do not count on any sunshine today. The clouds will win this one.
Rain tonight will taper from west to east in the morning hours of Wednesday, which will lead to a gray and gloomy day. There is still. Chance for a shower throughout the day, but it should mostly be cloudy.
Easter Forecast: Right now, Easter is looking a bit cool, with temperatures in the lower 40s. There is a chance for a few rain and snow showers, with partly cloudy skies at times. Not a total washout.
We still believe that the first leg of April will be colder than average (average is 47).
While we do think we’re finished with significant snow for the season, we don’t think we’re done yet with accumulating snow all together.
Just things to watch going into April.
***Cooperative Weather Observer Needed***
Do you live in or near Silver Creek and want to help us? The National Weather Service in Buffalo is looking for a volunteer weather observer in Silver Creek to take daily weather observations, including rainfall and snowfall totals.
Observations will be taken at or around 7:00 AM and relayed to the NWS via the web for via phone.
Weather Observers are a very important part of what we do, as all the data collected helps forecasters at the NWS make and coordinate warning efforts, as well as helping us predict future climate patterns, like drought conditions, for example.
You will be provided with a rain gauge and a snow stick free of charge from the NWS.
If you are interested, please contact Dan Kelly, the Observation Program Leader (OPL) at the National Weather Service in Buffalo at dan.kelly@noaa.gov, or 716-565-0204.
