JAMESTOWN – 29 days into Spring, and old man Winter will not go away. But there is a neon light at the end of the tunnel.
We still have some light snow showers to go through today. Nothing of a big deal there; likely less than an inch of accumulation.
A mixed bag of wintry precipitation will round out our workweek on Friday, with again, less than an inch of overall snow accumulation.
But the biggest news is, a warmup to spring-like warmth is in the cards!
A 1034 millibar High currently over the midwest will work its way across the Great Lakes through the weekend, and will be centered over Western New York on Sunday.
This will not only clear us out with gorgeous sunshine, but it also means a spike in temperatures. We’ll kick off the work week with temps in the 60s, and that is fantastic.
The High moves out towards the Tug Hill late Tuesday, allowing for a 1007mbar Low well to our south, with a 1018mbar mean pressure from the southwest, to throw us a few rain showers on Wednesday, but we should be in the 60s by that time.
60s and rain showers? I think we’ll take it over 30s and snow.
