JAMESTOWN – We may be in October but summer will last for a little while longer before a big change in the weather pattern brings us back to fall.
Sunshine will continue for our Tuesday and Wednesday with high amounts of humidity. With dew points in the 60s, that will add that stick back into the air.
We may be close to breaking a record on Wednesday. The record is 79 set in 2003. Our forecast high is 80 so we will give that record a good run for its money.
A Cold front along with a shift in the upper air flow will being temperatures back to a fall-like pattern for the end of the week and into next week.
We could be in for our first frosts of season both Saturday morning and Sunday morning as lows are projected to dip into the upper 30s. The growing season is coming to a close to cover your tender vegetation or bring them inside.
Tropical Update: Hurricane Michael continues to churn away in the Gulf of Mexico now as a strong Category 2 with maximum winds of 110 MPH.
The official forecast from the National Hurricane Center has Michael becoming a “Major” Category 3 hurricane before making landfall near Pensacola, Florida later in the week.
Michael will then make a run towards the Carolinas by the weekend as a weaker Tropical Storm but will dump more heavy rain over the same areas that were impacted by Florence just a few weeks ago.
The “Cone Of Uncertainty” only shows the potential track the center of the system could take. A tropical systems’ impact radius can spread out several hundred miles from the storm center.
