Thundershowers This Afternoon; Making a Run Near 80 Mid Week

JAMESTOWN – We’re dodging a few rain drops this afternoon, but a few peaks of sun are not out of the question for the late afternoon hours.
A cold front with an attached Low has been plowing through the regain today, bringing us the rain and thunderstorm activity.
As the the front pushes Eastward, some clearing of the skies are possible, which may give us a few peaks of that oh so good sunshine this afternoon.
The NOAA Storm Prediction Center has removed the western Southern Tier from the less than average “Marginal” Risk (1/5) for severe thunderstorms for today, which I think is the right call. I just do not expect any severe weather in across Western New York this afternoon. The highest severe weather perimeters are to our south and east, where there are Severe Thunderstorm Watches and Tornado Watches currently in effect.
A southernly flow will set back up over the next couple of days, giving us a very good shot of hitting or exceeding 80 along inland areas away from Lake Erie.
