Tornado Touchdown Confirmed In Erie

ERIE, PA-Storm damage survey teams from the National Weather Service in Cleveland, OH have confirmed a tornado did indeed occur in Erie, PA last night.

The team’s preliminary rating is an EF1 (86 – 110 MPH wind speeds), with a consistent track line of damage starting on W. 26th St. in the Millcreek Township, and ending on W. 36th St in the city of Erie, where the tornado ultimately lifted.

Many reports of damage came in last night, ranging from trees down, power lines and poles snapped, and home damage, along with flooding.

The EF1 rating is preliminary; the rating subject to change, as the survey team continues to gather information.
